How do I remove a clear bra?
I had a customer approach me and ask if I could remove the clear bra from their RV. I have never done any work on a clear bra before and they got it installed from out of town. No one in my town installs much less knows about clear bras so I am kinda on my own. What would be the best and safest method to remove this clear bra. They claim that the bra has mildew behind it and that is why they want it taken off. Any help would be great.
Thanks

I've only done it once on my own car and would not want to do it again.
I was told by the installer to leave it in the hot sun for a while and then slowly peel it off...that's the easy part!
Removing the adhesive left behind is the PITA part which takes forever. You have to let the adhesive remover dwell for a long period of time to soften it up.

I thought you could use a heat gun/hair dryer to remove the clear bras. At least that is what I recall with the 3M material that I used. I **think** it required about 150F to get the adhesive to let go. Just one more option for you to investigate.
But, you should try and find out who the manufacturer of the bra material was (3M, venture, etc.) and get their recommendation as well.
Best wishes for a job well done.

That would be a good start... but there is going to be adhesive residue left over in all cases until it is chemically remove it...

Re: How do I remove a clear bra?
NO HEAT GUN. It will melt the film and also it plays havoc with the adhesive. Use a blow dryer ( not as hot as a heat gun). Slowly peel the film as you heat it up. If it sticks, let it cool and start again. Heating and cooling rapidly, helps break the adhesive seal.
So, heat, run cool water, heat. Makes it much easier. Should have little or no adhesive remaining on the car.
