So the past couple of weeks have been crazy since getting moved into our new house. One thing I was sure if is that before any real work goes on in here I needed to get it up to par.

First on the list was the flooring. Just your typical smooth concrete floor. I decided to buy the rustoleum epoxy garage floor kit with the speckled finish. For 100$ plus the added cost of a few misc supplys I figured it would be a much better and safer alternative.

The kit comes complete with almost 2 full gallons of color and 2 quarts of activator that get mixed into the color. Also a powdered citric acid wash to get the floor etched. I also hit the bad spots with ZEP degreaser and a stiff bristle brush.

After prepping I got to rolling out the floor. As I rolled I dropped the speckles and continued on. Overall I am happy with the way it came out. Not perfect but cars will be in and out so it will get abused.

Before.

After. I do plan on doing the sides in white at a later date.

Next was getting the lighting done. Originally I was going to get ballasts and led bulbs and hardwire it all in. But by the time I did that it was going to cost way more. So instead I bought 5 of these led lights and decided to mount those and run them to a gfi 5 way strip.

The lights are 6680K and 1681 lumens. 63 led per unit. Mounting them was as simple as drilling some holes and knocking in some anchors then running the cords. Very happy with how brite it is now.

Cool!

Planning on hooking up a monitor or two for entertainment while you work?

How about padding for the pole? You just know the "THUNK!" is waiting to happen... lol

Thank you!

It's just a standard 2 bay garage under the house. Each bay has its own door.

First off congrats on the new home. The floor looks great! I too recently changed my mind about hardwiring some lights, and am doing something similar. Actually just got my lights yesterday from Lowes. I do have one question. What product do you use on that GTO's tires? It looks amazing!

Thank you very much! I was going to buy the led lights from Lowe's but I am pretty sure that they were rated for 5000k. I wanted 6500k. These are 6680k.

Thanks for the compliment on the GTO. I just got done machine polishing the rims with my pe8 rotary and McKee's 37 fine cut polish. Then coated them with Mckees wheel coating. The tires were cleaned up and then I had some aersol Meguiars Reflect Tire shine. Works good but not sure how long it lasts.
