I like the color changing cleaners as it makes it easy to see what is dirty and what is not. However, they get expensive. I have tried dub, 3d bdx, sonax, iron x spray, iron x gel and found they all have their drawbacks. What is your favorite of the ones on the market considering everything but mostly price and overall effectiveness?

What drawbacks have you found?

Dub is cheaper but does not foam or cling as much and is not that strong. Iron x spray and gel are expensive. Sonax smells like a dead person and is okay for the price and 3d bdx is the best I have found so far

I've olny used Dub. It works well, and I don't have to use it often.

If you don't let dust cake on your wheels then you can use any regular cleaner the color changing doesn't mean it's better. But I guess you can never use to much if you don't let it sit and cake on there

I haven't tried DUB, but you've pretty much nailed the others. "Smells like a dead person..."

Try griots heavy duty wheel cleaner

It's on my next order. This and Mothers tire renew.

Was just wondering, we know it is not necessary to use a wheel cleaner such as Sonax or Wolfgang Uber every week but will it cause any harm?
Have been using P21S for years and just bought a gallon of the Uber.

I don't see any reason for it to cause harm to the wheels. I honestly would look into a coating which will create a barrier against any contamination that would occur. Theoretically, you shouldn't have to use wheel cleaner every wash, as long as you maintain them correctly.

I prefer Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner - tried a few other (PoorBoys/Both Sonax Full Effect & Plus/DUB) - but the Pinnacle seems to clean the best as well as clings best out of them all - Does smell as bad as the others though.....

ohhh - and it's safe for all wheels!

Mother's FX Wheel Cleaner. I bought a ton on bogo last year. I love this stuff. No color changing and no skunk stink.
