What would be the best protectant for chrome trim? to help prevent oxidation?

Blackfire Metal Sealant, but for longer protection try Car Pro's Dlux.

provide protection for chrome trim...
(Even if the chrome trim happens
to be "chromed plastic"):

As a rule, anything that is hard and clear or shiny can be protected with any wax or sealant:dblthumb2:

I used DLuX yesterday on my truck's new side steps that are chrome and plastic.
