I will be putting a sealant on my daughters new car in about a month. I do not want to put on a coating because she does not have a garage and I will be working on her car in the street. If I mess up the coating I will not be able to work with my DA, so I will play it safe with a sealant. I am considering Duragloss 111 mixed with 601. Also considering Powerlock. Any other suggestions? Only looking for longevity for the winter.

You will probably have more longevity with 601/105. Let it cure .. And then top with the 601/111 for super shine and additional protection.

Bet you could get up to a year with DG 601/105 if you top every 3 washes with Aquawax.

That's right....I said one year.

I would have agreed regarding DG 601/105 and 476 until I began using FK1000p. Car stays cleaner longer, water seems to just jump off the paint and it's been on the car for over 9 months and still going strong.

PL and DG 111 are the most recent sealers I've applied to my family's vehicles. The durability on both is excellent, but I get better/more uniform beading with Powerlock and more gloss with 111. Honestly, you'll be pleased with either one.

Menzerna Powerlock. I have had it last for more than 9 months with proper maintenance in intense Dubai Heat. This is because I used D156 after every other wash. Following this makes D156 your sacrificial layer preserving the PL below, and any sealant for that matter.

It would have probably lasted longer but I wanted to do a light polish so took it all off lol.

That was on my old VW. Now with the Honda I use D156 every wash and it still has powerlock below.

P.S. My car is parked on the main road 24/7 in this crazy heat (Avg 110-115). That should give you an idea.

Any good quality sealant will do a good job. If you ask a 100 detailers here you will probably get 15 products coming up equally.

Powerlock, Insulator Wax, Reload, Megs D21, etc, it's all good. Just avoid Turtle Wax so you don't have to spend 5 hours taking if off the car then removing it from every crack ;)

I've always had my expectations exceeded by duragloss. 111, and 101.

Neither of them withstanding a Michigan winter of salt, snow, slush, and ice.

I did my former employer's car in 111. He owned a car wash, and He got about six months from the sides, and about ten from the top. Spinning cloth brushes are hell on paint.

I agree. Meguiar's M20, M21, Optimum Opti-Seal, Surf City Nano Seal, 3M Performance Finish, DG101, 111, etc.

Are some fantastic products

First and foremost- Super Doublecoat, put it on thin and you are good to go. Power lock is great, but for simplicity I will suggest PNS. Good luck!

Klasse SG and Collinite 845 will both get six months of protection for me. They hold up in the heat/rain of summer and the abuse of a mid-west US winter.
