My wife needs a new car and Infiniti Q50 is the car she wants with Hagane Blue paint. I found a 2015 Q50S loaded certified used and considering buy the car today. Looking forward to spending a solid day detailing this car with all of the products from here.

Seeking opinions on this car color. It's starting to grow on me as i hated the color at first. My wife loves it... happy wife happy life!!

I should be able to get this car to pop with Fuzion.

Thoughts please....

Q50 has some of the worst reliability ratings and it is on the 'cars to avoid' list for 2016.

Do some research on Q50 problems w.r.t reliability.

The quality of Infiniti cars are going downhill very fast and sales are downhill because of that and they've discontinued their G37 turned Q40 sedan as well.

There are some pretty scathing reviews on Acura as well, esp on their RL sedan and TSX (I am surprised Honda let it come to that. Nissan, I am not surprised at all)

If you are looking for a Japanese luxury car with rock solid reliability and top notch quality, fork out the extra $$$ and get the Lexus (probably the GS350 which is the closest equivalent of Q50). Forget Acura & Infiniti. They don't hold a candle to their Lexus counterpart models.

That 3.5L engine Lexus uses on most of its xx350 models is bullet proof in reliability and performance and Lexus has achieved near perfection on that engine by now. Its a tried and tested engine that will do 250K miles without a sweat.

And the interiors on the Lexus is no match for Acura and Infiniti. Ultra refined.

New car for her, new car to detail for you! Win Win.

i dig that color. It looks like it shifts depending on the light, it's almost pink/purple under the headlight where the light is direct. I agree that Fuzion will be a great choice for it.

That's a nice car and sovereign paste wax will make that glisten. If it's gonna be a dd during the winter switch up the protection.

I have Fuzion and Sovereign wax, but I will look into the reliability factor as well. We had a G35X and ran into engine issues and got rid of it. I have a Lexus LS460 in Black Sapphire and would not give up this car for any others.

The new Q50 has twin turbo, this engine could be double trouble on reliability.

Relating to the paint color, keep sending in your comments. I have all these products bought here and need to use it up.

If you plan on "touching" the paint on a regular basis, including bad weather months, your plan sounds good. There may be products and plans that will allow that gorgeous color to pop a little longer between touches. What do you want to do?

Comments on that color? I LOVE it! After 28 years of marriage, if the wife loves something...so do I.

X2 on the Lexus. There is a reason it is the best selling Japanese luxury line. But if she has mind set on that car, best of luck. I'm not a fan of most blue colors but that one is pretty nice. X2 on the Fuzion would look good on it.

Lol, I'd rock the comparable Lexus.

Other then that, we all use the "happy wife, happy life too much" . I say it's both ways!

If she like's it buy it. And yeah Fuzion will make it pOp!

CR says electronic, infotainment issues:

9. Infiniti Q50
You probably won’t have a problem turning your Q50 on or driving it, but you might not be able to use much in the cabin. Owners reported problems with the navigation system, infotainment screen, integrated controls, Bluetooth, and power steering. Add it all up, and the Infiniti Q50 is also 127% less reliable than average per Consumer Reports’ findings.

And number 1 on the list of most unreliable was no surprise to me:

1. Fiat 500L
Poor little Fiat 500L. It tries to look cute and be different, but not only did it do extremely poorly in Consumer Reports’ road test, it’s also last on this reliability list. With a score that’s 219% below average, this Fiat is 16 times more likely to have a serious problem than the most reliable vehicle, the Scion xB. Problems with the navigation system, backup camera and sensor, and radio were paired with a rough-shifting transmission, dooming the 500L to the bottom of the list.

That's a real sharp looking car.. It can't be that big of a potential mechanical disaster , can it?

I like the color. It looks a bit lighter than my Breakwater Blue Lexus. :)

I seriously love my 04 RX. It's got 170k with no problems. Fit and finish still near new.

He is 100% correct about the recent reliability of the models he mentioned from Infinity and Acura

Buddy, if you love your wife then you wouldn't like her getting miserable over a junky car that stale for no reason. I'm exaggerating a little bit, but you get the point.

Reliability should always be your first priority and defiantly not the paint (whether it *POPs or not)!

It might be me, but I'm happy to give my car a whole repaint instead of replacing the engine/tranny... One I'm forced to do, while the other is my choice.

I appreciate all of the comments. This car is the 2015 Q50s as I did not want the 2016 with the twin turbo. Turbo and Nissan seem like a bad combo but time will tell. My wife is picking the car up on Monday and will post some pics after detailing.

This will be our 3rd Infiniti as we had the G35X and I-30 previously.
