Hello guys

For some time I've been trying to find the right tools to clean my wheels. I use a detail brush for the spokes and an EZ Brush for the barrel. But I don't feel the detailing brush do a good work, as I have to spend a lot of time for the inner and fillets of the spokes, and the work isn't perfect. Would you guys recommend a better tools for these wheels I have?

Thanks!

With gloves on your fingers are good tools. To reach farther back on the rim we use a tire swabs. You can get them from a auto supply store. Make sure to get some 1/4" vinyl or rubber tubing to cover the stem to protect the rim they are steel.

Wheel Woolies set.

Wheel Woolies 3-Piece Kit, wheel cleaning tools, wheel brushes (http://www.autogeek.net/wheel-woolies.html)

The big one is awesome on the barrels if it fits by the dust shield. The little one for the inside the spokes, but yours may be a little tight to fit closer to the center.

Sometimes tooth brushes will work for the right areas, or look at baby bottle brushes. I have shaved down toothbrushes on the spot to fit.

Spend a day removing wheels, clean the heck out of the rims and tires...Gyeon Q2 Rim for the wheels, Tuf Shine for the tires. Going forward all you'll need to clean 'em is a hose and a sponge...which likely won't even get dirty. No more wheel cleaning chems, no more slingin' tire dressing.

Another vote for the wheel woolies set and adding the detail brush. Many people love the speed master brush but the splash back is a deal killer for me.

Wheel Woolies are one of my favorite wheel cleaning tools, but I always use the Lake Country Wool Wheel Washing Mitt (http://www.autogeek.net/wool-wheel-cleaning-mitt.html) for the face of the wheel. The only downside to this mitt is that it leeches dye like crazy. If you get one, soak it in a pail in hot water and change out the water a half a dozen times; that will get most of the excess dye out. Once you get past that, it's a great tool.

The Woolies are worth the investment. I can't think of a better brush for the barrel area than the set's large unit. Super easy to clean up and put away, too. The smaller ones are great for exhaust cleaning as well.

The detailing brush above is also nice. The bristle is soft, yet firm enough for light tire scrubbing duty. Of course if you really want to tackle nasty rubbers, get yourself a Tuf Shine Tire Brush (http://www.autogeek.net/tuf-shine-tire-brush.html). I will say I prefer natural boar's hair for scrubbing emblems as they feel more suitable for my delicate Subaru paint.

X2 on the woolies. One of those 3 will fit almost anywhere.

Seems like alot of people don't like the Daytona Speed Master Brush due to the slingback when using it.. Replace it with Wheel Woolie? I prefer to replace them both with a brush I call the "Moolie" lol. It's actually just a Tampico Spoke Brush, but I'd put this brush up against both of those and be willing to bet it does a better job.

No slingback, and unlike the sometimes too soft bristles of the Daytona, and the too soft for any real heavy duty task bristles of the Whoolies, the Tampico brush can handle the heavy duty caked on barrels, while still being safe enough for brand new wheel barrels without ever scratching a thing.

I have a large and small 1.

I have the Tampico brush. It's really handy for engine bay cleaning.

Rsurfer - We have the same tools! How about one of them Atlasta? The blue one is excellent for stubborn stuff. I keep the dub182z in the trunk; use it to blow away brake dust after each commute. Works like a charm. Got the xbu02z for drying, dusting (awesome), and the occasional clean up whenever they do yard work next door, blowing crap all over the ride.

I've read each of the comments and I can say that maaaaybe the wheel wollies are the best option. Everything else surely will be to big to fit the inside between the spokes. For you to have an idea, my bare hands with a thin MF towel almost don't fit there.
Does the smaller wollie have a large "tolerance" to be compressed?
