hi, my paints in good shape and i wanted to use an ultra fine polish on it this weekend. i bought wolfgang finishing glaze thinking it was the same as menzerna ultrafine polish 3800. apparently its a step down on the gloss scale from that its the 3500 clone. do you guys think there will be that much difference between the two? Im thinking of putting the detail off until i can get the ultrafine 3800 stuff. what do you guys think?

Are you applying by hand or machine? If by hand, imo you probably wouldn't see a difference. If by machine, you may see a very slight difference in gloss but, i wouldn't get the 3800 if i had just bought the finishing glaze. Wolfgang finishing glaze is an awesome finishing polish.

You must be super human to tell the finish between 3500 and 3800.

•Putting the detail off until you
can get some 3800?
-Only if you are planning on using
the 3800 for "Jeweling" the paint.

No difference between 3500 or 3800 unless you're entering pebble beach.

im thinking im just going to try the 3500 and follow that with meguiars pro machine glaze then lsp. i got the five inch lc hybrid pads to try out

You won't notice a difference. Enjoy what you have and if you do move up, I'd suggest looking at Car Pro Essence and move then to a coating on top of it. The difference, especially on darker colors is dramatic.

Looks like you've made your decision and i agree. I'll make it unanimous up to this point and say that i use 3500 and 3800 almost interchangably. I will admit to grabbing 3800 for those times i really spend some time jewelling my black paint but like Zubair said, i have to summon my super human eyesight!

I do reach for 3800 on softer paints and use 3500 on mediums to hards.

Have a blast shining that black paint up!
