Hi everyone! I just got some CG Citrus Wash and Gloss and used it with my foam lance...it was very underwhelming, very watery, not foamy at all. I've gotten wayyyy better results from using "lesser" soaps. I know the CG soap should be excellent and I'm not blaming it, it has to be a user error. I used 20ML of it in the 32oz lance bottle and filled with warm water. I had my lance set for maximum soap output (as in, had the knob turned so the minimum amount of water was added, I tried it a few different ways and this was the best). My pressure washer is an older Karcher 360. Any ideas on what went awry?

Not enough soap. 20 ml = .68 oz. Try a minimum of 2 oz. I might even use more.

Ok, I'll do more next time! I was watching some vid on youtube where a guy used 20mL with good results but maybe I heard him wrong.

CG citrus wash and gloss foams like crazy. I can get it to look like shaving cream. It's not my go to and won't use it after a wax cause it can be on the strong side but when I do I use 3 to 5 ounces mixed with warm water in the cannon. Shaken up very well. I also use a gas powered pressure washer.

Those are the two factors in my mind: not enough soap and not enough power. I typically use Gyeon Foam or DP Xtreme and use about 3 oz in each. I have a Greenworks 1700 PSI electric sprayer, and the foam is decent...

How much water do you guys mix in via the knob on the lance?

try using at least 3 ounces of soap and fill the rest with some warm water and shake well (in a circle not up and down)...

I shake mine up and down but keep my palm over the top. This is before I attach the main piece. The way you shake it makes no difference at all imo. As long as it's mixed thorough

20 ml? That barley a 1/2 oz. I use like 6 ounces, you're being far to cheap with your soap

Did about 5oz, and while lots better, it wasn't the thickest I've ever seen come out of my lance. Nothing like any of the pics here. Is there anything that can go bad inside the lance? I took it apart and put new plumber's tape on all the threads. I think my pressure washer is ok too, seems to have the normal power it's always had. Keep adding soap?

Which Lance do you have? If it worked fine before, test again with a soap you know produced lots of foam.

Do you have an electric or gas pressure washer and how many Psi and Gpm?

It's some Chinese ebay special lance. The pressure washer is a Karcher 360, 1.6 GPM 1400 PSI.

With 5 ounces of soap you should be getting thick foam. I use an AR Blue 390ss (2000 psi) and a foam lance also from AR Blue and with 3-4 ounces of Reset I get a nice thick clingy foam. The inside of your lance may be clogged up and need cleaning.

This is why foaming isn't economical. It uses way too much soap.

But, if you want shaving cream on your car, this is what you need to do. I have Gtechniq foaming soap in my basket, so I'll see if it foams with lower concentrations.

With that much soap and if you aren't getting good foam I'm betting the metal mesh filter in the nozzle is clogged. Take the foam cannon apart and get it out of the nozzle and soak it in some CLR overnight. After it soaks overnight, rinse it really well and put it back in and the cannon should perform much better. You could also just buy a new filter for less than $10.

I suspect is either a clogged strainer, or, some of the thread tape has come loose and is partially blocking something.
