Hi All,

I need to find out what to charge for a 2 step process for a 2017 Ford F-150

1- Foam wash
2- Decontaminate paint (Nanoskin)
3- Tape the whole truck
4- Polish
5- Seal/wax
6- Dress tires
7- Clean exterior windows

I don't do the interior nor the engine bay

Thanks

Would be dependant on what level the customer wants the paint to be and the condition of the paint. I am thinking a 1 step with an AIO would be plenty on a 2017. I would start the price at $350 and that would include interior.

Hi Jeremy,

The F-150 looks ok. Not a whole lot of swirls, just a little. Why the 2 steps. The customer doesn't want to have the interior done.

I don't touch trucks for anything under $500. Especially for a 2 step correction.

I start at $340 for what you listed, without added protection

^^ I would approach the above with an AIO. Especially since it's basically new and as noted, with only minor swirls.

$400-$450 range is what I charge. F150's have a lot of surface area and hard clear coat.

Definitely thinking an AIO is better suited for a 2017 truck, you're looking at at least a 15 hour day for a two step.

I knocked out this Chevy including wash, trim seal etc. no interior, 8 hours. Polished with FG400 and Sealed with Powerlock.

I charged $350 if I remember correctly.

And it was trashed!!!!

It was seriously oxidized, 7 years of neglect.

100% swirl free in one step

$350 and I would 1 step it with an All In One like Megs 151.

one of these day's I'll figure out how to work quicker lol

I am not familiar with many AIOs, and have an assumption that they are super mild. If the clear is hard, be prepared with other choices.
Fg400 finishes LSP ready on hard clear coats.
Some will say it's overkill 'cause the truck is a 2017, but it won't remove much clear if indeed it is hard clear. I know this because I've done testing with it on hard clear and a paint gauge.

And you could use FG400 and go with a white pad for less aggression, as always start with a test spot.

I would also do an AIO on that truck. Just do a test spot with various pads to see what works best then go to town ;)

Pricewise 350$ to 400$ is what I would charge.

If you feel like it, top off with D156 to add some extra pop and protection.

Actually most AIO have more cutting ability than finishing polishes. For exemple, Meguiars' Paint Reconditionning Creme has more cut than both M205 and Ultimate Polish. They usually sit half way between polishes and compounds on the aggressiveness chart.

I'm not sure why everyone is trying to pull you off of a two step? If you have the time and the customer wants to pay, its the way to go for longevity. AIO's won't last, so it doesn't give a lasting impression to the customer.

Meguiar's #205 or D300 followed by a sealant would be in the $350-$400 range for me.

Need color for a answer. If its black 350.00 for one day only.If he is picky double that.2017 can't be so horrific time wise.Worst case a day in a half.

Why go with AIO instead of 2 step? The way I see it, someone with an almost new car will already find the price of a 1 step to be steep. And doing a 2 step might make it too expensive Ideally, offer both and let the client decide.

Megs D151 has plenty of cutting ability with an orange pad. You can even finish the last few passes with a white pad to gloss it up.

The main reason to do a 1 step is that its not a show car. A good AIO like D151 or Wolfgang Uber AIO has an aggressiveness rating of 6 on the autopia chart. They will take out swirls and even some scratches. And I think the Megs 151 finishes with a liquid shine.

Check some of my threads using AIO on SHow and Shine board.
