After watching a few videos last week, I have put my scratch removal process into question.

Right now I do wet sanding by hand using either 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper. I then go to compounding with micro fiber pad and D300.

In the video I watched, the detailer was doing the wet sanding by machine using a Bigfoot 21 and 3000 grit sanding disk.

So my question is, do you guys use machines to wet sand scratches out? If so do you see a good time saving advantage? And what type of machines/sandpaper do you use?

I am thinking that using a 3'' GG polisher with 3'' sanding disks might be a good solution. It really depends if there is a time saving advantage or not.

Mike P has some vids out on wet sanding with a da. IIRC, he likes the GG3" for wet sanding.

I wet sand by hand masking off the scratch and then buff out.
