I have alot of supplies in my arsenal and cabinet but im looking to purchase stuff that is modest in cost but would help me anywhere. I already have a foam cannon and some brushes but any ideas could help. Just think outside the box too and ill consider it

Take a look at optimum products. They have quickly become my favorites.

A product I wouldn't be without is P21s Total Auto Wash (TAW). I can use it on multiple places to safely get quality results. I mix it in quantity at 1:10 (with distilled) and then break it down to 1:20 or 1:30 (Even at 1:30 it safely cleans Traffic film thoroughly with minimum effort).

A cleaner that works on the toughest messes in a safe manner is a valuable tool for a detailer.

Duragloss, in my experience, offers some great value for the lower costs. From a business perspective I look for lower cost but higher effectiveness. I also buy in bulk for the highest turnover products I use thus lowering my per use costs.
I also agree with cstmsprty on 3D/HD products .

I've also looked at my operations from a "movement efficiency" perspective and use a cart to minimize as many unnecessary non working walk arounds as much as possible.

I know, Bill, these are not directly addressing your great questions but just some personal things I've looked at to reduce costs and maximize efficiencies.

I tried HD adapt and loved it for how it finished down with minimal dust. However,in their lineup it served little purpose when discontinued

HD Cut and HD Polish are top notch products. That said I still prefer M101 for heavy cut, Ultimate Compound for medium cut and M205 for polishing.

Optimum products, Poor Boys, 3M HD line are all good products.
