How long is too long?

Found some old prducts (polishes and glazes) in a box the other day and they are probably 6 years old is my guess, as these are all qulaity products and have been in the garage out of the sun and extreme temps are they any good? I am guessing not but I figured I would get the forum's feelings on this.:thankyousign:
 
First thing I would do is smell them and if they have a kerosene smell, I'd toss them. If they smell ok, shake up and try them out.
 
I would go to the manufacturers website and dig around for shelf life.
