Looking for something for light cleaning of the plastic interior bits, with good protection. Matte finish. No goofy scents that smell like food. Any reco's?

Welcome to AGO.

With something that has a little light cleaning without altering the look of the interior and leaving a little protection, then these would be good options

Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer
McKee's 37 Fast Interior Detailer
Optimum Opti-Clean which is a waterless wash but works great for interior wipedowns.

I've actually been using megs fast finish, which is meant for your paint but does a great job on the dash and keeps the dusting down

I use Mckees fast interior detailer and love it. I also use Megs D156 and it works really well.

McKee's 37 Fast Interior Detailer is amazing. It cleans well and, if memory serves, it adds a tiny bit of protection. The smell is incredible - it's not like food - it just smells like manly Heaven. It's addictive! Every one of my "car guy" customers loves the smell of it too.

If you want a protectant that has no discernible scent and does not alter the appearance of the surface then maybe look at Gtechniq C6 Matte Dash. It is usable all over the interior. This is my go-to protectant most of the time because it's so easy to apply and just a tiny bit of it goes a long way. There's no harm in using C6 as the base layer of protection and then using the McKee's product to spruce up the interior on occasion.

Just started using Opti-Clean. First impression is pretty good. It really converges interior cleaner, sealant, quick detailer and AIO well.

Optimum Opti Clean Concentrate, Opticlean cleaner protectant, Optimum all purpose cleaner protectant (https://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-clean-32.html)

I'll add my vote for McKee's 37 Interior Surface Protectant. I really like it.

I've also used 303 Aerospace and Meguiars Natural Shine interior protectant with success, but like the Mckee's 37 more than either of those two.

Yup, that’s been my go to product for the interior of my Cadillac for about the last 2 yrs. 1st a thorough vacuum [seats, dash, & door panels with a soft horsehair brush attachment] followed by a good wipedown of every part of the interior [except the instrument cluster] using a clean cotton terry towel sprayed with D181.

Leaves my interior completely clean and crisp, the way it outta be.

Sometimes I’ll follow it up with D180, just depends how I feel. Sometimes I like a bit of sheen, looks especially good on a night out.

I must say however, I find it’s doesn’t play the best with certain interiors such as Mercedes Benz which have their version of fake leather aka Mercedes Benz Tex.. Reason why is because that material they use is so dry and coarse and this cleaner seems to be a bit much for it. It turns into a dry wipe, not a very nice user experience. Same thing with the BMW fake leather. But if it’s not that German style coarse fake leather D181 works great.
