I am getting the mark 2 rupes polisher, the thing is I have lots of 5.5 inch and 6.5 inch chemical guys hex logic pads , I normally am doing just the final polishing and applying like glaze, sealant, and then wax, would these pads hold up on the rupes lhr21 mark2 polisher?

I’ve used the Hex with the 21. They are alright. The 21 will wear them out pretty quick. The Rupes pads are a good choice. Lake Country is another good one. (The ones made for long throws) Carpro gloss pads work great with it on certain finishes.

Everyone has their own preference when it comes to pads. I would start out with the Rupes pads and experiment with other ones as you go on.

As for the washer mod. Try it without the mod first. The MII is a lot more powerful than the original. I will use the washer mod very rarely on the MII. I don’t think it’s really needed all the time. But once again everyone has their own preference and opinions.

I run my 21mk2 with a washer mod and a 5" backing plate.

I also LOVE the performance and longevity of the buff and shine URO TEC pad line. The maroon is my most used and most versatile pad in my arsenal. Yellow is also a great pad!

Need more cut? URO-fiber pads are also a great choice on the 21.

Nothing against LC pads, but I have been very impressed with the B&S lineup and no need to look elsewhere IMO.

I’m a purist, so invest in a few Rupes pads (especially yellow) and try them out. I never even washer modded my Rupes 21 Legacy and really never missed it. The key is keeping the pad flat. The MK II has even more power so I really don’t see the necessity of the washer mod. Rupes engineers spent thousands of hours designing their polishers for us. Use them as designed.

Maroon works incredible for AIO products although I've not used the CG stuff. It has just enough cut to level moderate defects and can still finish down very well on all but super soft paints. It's one of those pads that continually impresses me due to its versatility.
