Hi Mike , I just had my front bumper repainted about a week ago and the body shop said not to wax it for 60 to 90 days but it would be ok to use a spray wax as long as it’s water based and silicone free. My question is I have Black Fire caranuba spray wax but I’m unable to find out if that will be ok to use . Do you think it would be safe or should I just wait the 60 days to wax it. Thank You John.

“Spray Waxes” on fresh paint? No.

Instead, I would use:
Meguiars M305 Ultra Finishing Durable Glaze 16 oz. (https://www.autogeek.net/megiuars-m305-16.html)

Thanks for your feedback Bob I didn’t think that sounded like a good idea when they told me just wanted to check and make sure. I’ll try the Meguiars with winter coming I just want to have something to protect it

The only spray wax that would be an option and gets the ok from the manufacturer is Optimum Car Wax. Stated to be fresh paint safe. Another option besides M305.

I wasn’t aware of that I’ll have to look into Optimum as well Thank You

I have been told to wait 30 days before polishing and sealing my bumper bar (can polish now, but do not wax it).

I'd just leave it until then.
