Please don't let your love/hate for a specific brand sway your answer!

I've had a 2016 California Special Convertible Mustang for about a year now. It's in amazing shape, paint and everything. It's been stored in my garage when I'm not driving it.

This weekend I picked up a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am; low milage TTop car , also in great shape for an antique (25 years). I would say the paint is a mid to high 8 out of 10. Only a few dings and a scratch that I need to have removed. This car was garage kept it's entire life by previous owner.

I have a 1 car garage.

Who gets the garage?

I'm really trying to decide which car needs the garage protection more than the other. Should I be more worried about protecting the classic paint of the T/A or the ragtop of the Mustang?

Why not alternate every week? I'd have a hard time parking a nice new Mustang out on the street and don't have much love for F-bodies, so the choice would be easy for me.

What are your plans for both cars? If eventually will replace one and keep one.... keep the keeper inside. Also with TA being older maybe the paints more susceptible to environment?

LOL thought of that too. I have a truck that I drive in the winter , I guess I can still do it then too.

I'm trying to decide if protecting the ragtop on one vehicle is higher priority than paint protection on the other.

Congratulations on the new car. I have an 81 Trans Am.

T-tops are notorious for leaking so I would put that in the garage and car cover the Mustang.

That's a sweet Stang. I love the black wheels!

Nice, I don't think my garage floor can handle that much weight. It's plywood.

That would pose a challenge. Have you looked into a storage unit or other off-site indoor storage? Not the perfect solution but best way to keep both cars in great shape for the longest period. Some offsite even offer indoor self-wash bays as part of monthly storage fees (at least out here near Philadelphia).

For me this comes down to practicality. which one will you drive more? that one gets stored outside. It's less about which needs more protection and more about which one can go longer between cleaning because it's not driven as much.

What color is the TA? If it' isnt black, I'd keep the Mustang in the garage.
