Here’s one of the training cars for tomorrow. It’s a Mercedes-Benz E500 with the PPG Ceramiclear Paint System.

Everyone always says this paint system is ROCK HARD.

I say they’re wrong.


It’s in the medium range. Here’s my article on this paint system.

The swirls are just as bad over the rest of the car,

Besides paint correction - we’ll go over how to correctly clean and protect a canvas convertible top.

Class is about to start. We use ProLoc Extension Cords for all our corded tools.

On location here with Mike and the students, got here a bit late he starts early 7am meet up and class st 7:30!

He just showed proper convertible canvas top cleaning and drying using an HD Guzzler drying towel.

I’ll try to get pics for everybody but I know Mike as always will have tons to share!!

But what about those "spots" ? Is that clear coat failure, the aftermath of giant bird bombs, or what ?

Hey Rambler, I didn’t want to say anything till I saw the car in person, but the “spots” you see were just cloud reflections. No major clear coat damage luckily, but quite swirled out. Now that C500 on the other hand, had some nasty water spotting all over it.

Mike showing engine detailing, as well as the importance of before pictures as they hold the power for the after pictures (which I failed to take :Picture:) Drying with air is much faster in an engine bay than going at it with towels.

After this they dressed the plastics and bay with a spray dressing.(You’ll have to use your imagination for this sorry)
