Paint Transfer to Cutting Pad

Doing a 1986 Mercedes AMG Hammer. Im currently compounding the vehicle. I did clay it before compound. I have an excessive amount of black paint(?) transfered to my pad. What is this? Do I keep compounding. The area compounded came out really nice. I tried to post a pic of the pad. Its a yellow hex pad that is completely black. Pic wont upload.

If you're getting paint transfer on to your pad I'd think that's a good sign you're working with single stage paint that doesn't have any clear coat on it. I would have thought a mid-'80's car would have clear coat, but maybe not.

As for how to deal with it, I'll let the pro's who've worked on older cars weigh on on that part.
