Waterless/rinseless and traditional soaps

The key is the type of water you use with traditional soaps. Concentrates such as ONR have water softening properties so you can use any kind of water, whereas traditional soaps do not have water softening properties so you need to use water that is free of any minerals, such as distilled water or reverse osmosis water. Otherwise you risk getting water spots.

I don’t like it. Seems a bit messy and overkill with the foam, and I love suds, but not when I’m waterless washing.

As far as water spots, I don’t think they’re as much of a factor when doing waterless/rinseless washing because you’re wiping the panels dry immediately after you’re getting them wet so there’s no time for water spots to even happen.

My current waterless product is Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash Concentrate @3oz. per gallon. Fill up my 1.5L Kwazar Pump Sprayer, a couple of Kirklands, and a drying towel and I can safely waterless wash just about any car.

SUV’s & large trucks may require 4 towels max. Here’s an extreme example which required 4 Kirklands and 1 Cobra drying towel + 1 cotton terry hand towel for the wheels.





I also have McKee’s N-914 & Ech2o, but the WG is the 1 I reach for the most.

When you use it like this you are just wiping soap off of the car.

Waterless and rinseless are formulated different focusing on polymers that lift and encapsulate, soaps use mainly surfactants that lubricate.

I’d stick with one of those products.

Ammo NYC and Owners pride have a true waterless product that foams. I’ve used frothy, love it.


ADG has Fuzion which is a hybrid wash. They state it has surfactants and polymers.

Lol.... i do opposite. 914 or GBFRR pre soak and a Frothe waterless.
