Best Way to remove a 3+ year coating?

Specifically the coating I’m referring to removing is Diamond Body 36.

Generally, should a simple polish with a soft black pad work? Or should I start with a more coarse pad and compound and then switch to a softer pad and polish? The paint is fine. I just need to remove the coating to apply a new coating.
