Have you had issues with the Griots g15 not holding the pad firmly? I am using LC white pads.

Real frustrated that the backing plate doesn’t hold the pad firmly….so the pads either get off center while using or the backing plate tears the back of the pad Velcro and the pad itself and it starts coming apart. Makes it hard to be productive fussing with the pad the whole time.

I bought the G15 to use on my final light polish step (right now I love Menz 3800) with a white pad. I have a Flex Beast I use for compounding (Menz 400 with LC hybrid yellow or orange pads)….the flex backing plate holds the pads flawlessly, even with more pressure than I use with the Griots. So a clear difference.

Have you experienced this? What is the remedy/suggestions to correct? Thanks.

The carpro pads held some better but the same issue happened.

Sometimes I wonder if a backing plate being stuck onto a sofa or a sweater could alter its ability to perform. I haven’t had it happen but I wonder if it’s possible.

I have not experience that with my 1st Gen g15.

Going to have to get a new one maybe. I haven't had any issues with my backing plates personally. Griots, SPTA and shinemate.

So it's a Griots backing plate?

If so, give them a call. You might have gotten a defective one.

They replaced one of mine but for a different reason
