View Full Version : Scratched plastic "wood grain" interior trim

What would be the best product(s) and method(s) for me to use to remove scratches from the plastic "wood grain" interior trim and silver bezel around my gear shift? There's really no way for me to test it in an inconspicuous spot, so I'd have to be pretty sure it wouldn't just make the scratches worse. I want to make it look new again! :)

Here's a pic of the interior piece I'm talking about but not of my own car. This one is in better shape.

I have experience in this faux finish, just had a blue carbon fiber coating applied to my dash and trim. anyways, that finish is typically covered with an acrylic urethane, not unlike clear coat. You can use standard compounds and polishes depending on how bad the scratches are.

Use the megs plastic polish , same as post on stereo displays. Most fake and real wood used in cars has a light plastic or clearcoat finish and these products work well on them.
