I have a question from a friend who owns a 1999 Honda Oddesy van. Just wondering how to fix peeling clear coat on his van. Can it be spot-repaired, or do we need a new paint job? I've searched on the net and I found where this is a very common problem for 90's hondas. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Would any type of detailing products help?

That doesn't sound great Spike.Only way to fix peeling clear coat is too do a repaint. If it's peeling in one spot it will peel all over the car.If the car was in an accident at one point and the clear coat is just peeling on that panel then you should be able to reshoot that panel. If no accident clear coat failure it like cancer it's going to spread.

Maybe snap a picture and post it, to be sure. But yeah, sounds "terminal".

What color is the van you're dealing with? Two colors of Honda paint don't even have a clear coat, just single stage.

The van is dark green. I actually didn't have a chance to see it, I'm just going off what my friend told me.
