Dodge Magnum - Swirl Removal - Mothers Extreme Makeover (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/25708-dodge-magnum-swirl-removal-mothers-extreme-makeover.html)

I would just like to take a moment here to thank the fine folks at Mothers and Forrest Tosi for sending us a really nice Mothers Display for use in our new Show Car Garage Studio!

And just by chance, there's a Dodge Magnum that needs swirls, scratches and water spots removed! This Dodge Magnum belongs to a local Body Builder and Trainer who loves cars but doesn't have the time to take care of them to the level he can appreciate.

Finished claying the paint, taping off a little trim and then polishing the paint using Mothers Foam Pad Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/mothers-foam-pad-polish.html) from their Professional Line and the results turned out clear and glossy in one step using only polishing pads.

I used the Flex 3401 for most of the car with a white Kompressor pad but I also wanted to test out a DA Polisher like the PC to see how it performed on the same paint condition with the same foam formula and swirl remover and both tools and pads worked flawlessly with the Foam Pad Polish.

Very nice results!!! I'll have to add some of that polish to my next order. Is this a Dim or Non-Dim product?

Very nice display from Mothers and great looking work on the wagooooooon.

I think the pictures you post with your write up's help us, the average detailer so much.
Don't get me wrong your write up's are the best but the pictures just add so much.

Now all you need is Cannon to send you a camera and a couple of their glass len's.
Someone at Cannon must need their car detailed.

Have Max make a few call's, he's well connected :dblthumb2:

They are non-diminishing products.

Another thing to keep in mind - a little bit goes a long way. Don't overuse the product; not only is it wasteful, but removal can be more difficult.

Those were some nasty scratches you took out. Wonderful job as always, Mike. Thanks for the info as well forrest_mothers.

The Mothers Foam Pad Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/mothers-foam-pad-polish.html) is a sleeper... besides claying, that's all I used to remove the swirls and scratches and I PURPOSEFULLY used white foam polishing pads to test its ability.

It removed the defects and polished out to a high gloss. Excellent buffing cycle, (play time), and easy wipe-off.

The Synwax (http://www.autogeek.net/mo20016.html) is the same way, spread out easy, dries to haze, wipes off easy, leaves a very high gloss shine.

Mothers California Gold Pure Carnauba Paste Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/motcalgolcar.html) smells great, leaves a really clear, high gloss finish.

I also used the Glass Cleaner, Back To Black, Rubber Protectant, Clay Kit etc, but haven't had time to add the pictures...

After applying Mother's Synwax by machine to the Magnum Project I topped it with Mothers California Gold Pure Carnauba Paste Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/motcalgolcar.html) and because I like to put the frosting on the cake (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/24488-frosting-cake.html) by machine I used a Lake Country 5.5" Blue Finishing Pad (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-beveled-pad-kit.html) on a Porter Cable 7424XP (http://www.autogeek.net/porter-cable-7424xp.html) and simply placed the face of the foam pad into the tin of wax, blipped the on/off button a time or two and wala... ready to go to town...
