I attempted a search but to no avail, so.....

What are the do's and don’ts of matte finishes? Its a stock paint from the 2011 Mercedes designo magno, so I asked the Mercedes dealer but they scratched their heads while saying the following, "Go to AutoZone or peep boys and see what they have" I drove away as fast as I could after hearing that response!!!:hotrod2: I'm looking for a qualified soap brand for this paint.

I know both Swissvax and Chemical Guys carry matte finish care products... you might look into either of them.

No problem; you might want to delete that link though, AG doesn't like links to other forums and/or vendors posted on here. :xyxthumbs:

Why do matte finishes need special care?

Why would matte finishes need special care?

As you scrub on matte paint, you will actually start to polish it and give it gloss. Furthermore, the additives in regular shampoos, quick detailers, and waxes, are made to enhance gloss, something you do not want on a matte finish.

I was getting Borbet alloys for my ride which are finished in "mistral anthrazit matt"(17 inchers ;) )

I too have no idea regarding matte paint care! And I read that matte finishes are delicate! Makes me shudder to even think of using a wheel cleaner on them!!(I use APC for rim cleaning purposes)

Here's a pic

See my comments in my posts in this thread...

Especially the part specifically about working on actual paint, not graphics of any kind, and the results after time goes by when the surface is exposed to warm, or sunny weather.
