If you had some micro-fiber towlels to clean and you realized that you are out of micro-fiber cleaner. What can you safely use in a pinch ?
Thanks :xyxthumbs:

Any natural or "free" (from dyes, perfumes, etc.) laundry soap. Add distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle. I've never used a "dedicated" wash.

Tide free...(Liquid)...:dblthumb2:

Thanks guys for the quick replies. :dblthumb2:

How do you guys wash it? Warm water? Cold water? etc etc?

Also when it comes to drying do you guys put yours in the dry and set it to air dry with no heat?

Hmmm I guess I never realized there was special washing steps for microfiber. Of course the only really good stuff I have are the two cobra indigo towels that came with my Pinnacle kit and now the one from the mother's clay kit. The rest are 2 six pack rolls from Pep Boys of about 12x12 fairly thin but still MF cloth. (just finished sticking a bunch of AG MF on my wish list though after realizing mine suck)

I've just been washing warm/warm with an extra rinse cycle and dumping all the cloths (dry, buffing, etc. and wash mit) in the washer with tide powder and a scoop of Borax then dry on low. Might have to try the vinegar thing on the first rinse.

I've only ever used a dedicated wash but as others said, a "free & clear" detergent will be fine. Megs APC+ makes for a good prewash cleaning. I wash in the machine on hot and dry on warm/cool. The temperatures of household hot water are not high enough to ruin your MF's, I wouldn't chance it with the dryer on high though.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have brand new that I haven't washed and few that I have. I've used Liquid Tide bleach alternative but found that a Free/clear versions of any liquid detergent is the way to go. Or a presoak/wash with Megs/Any other brands APC.

I also noted that high heat can melt the fibers so it makes me wonder how to dry these down. Last time I used low heat air dry which came out just fine. So I'm just looking for members feedback on how you all are doing it.

I've found that the WW drying towels don't come out as absorbent when I use laundry soap. I use it sometimes on the other MF towels, but not the WW anymore.

Rei86: I hang dry all my towels. I have some lines strung up in the boiler room and they dry in no time from the heat in there.

I wash in warm water, rinse in cold.

.

I separate them out by use (Washing/Polishing, and Interior/Wheels/Tires) and add about 4oz of APC+, wash on cold and toss 'em in the dryer.

Works every time!

:iagree:I Do the same thing.

Regular Tide and a vinegar rinse. Works just fine.
