And...of course it's pouring here right now so all I can do is sit on my new bucket and wheel around inside...and plot the strategy for the new Flex tomorrow...

Well...I have a GG (ok, two), and based on lots of reading here and regretting not getting the Flex in the first place, I decided to try it out. I'll post up some thoughts as I work through the weekend with it - also credit due to Smack for his recommendation and incredible results BMW-wise. :xyxthumbs:

Did you buy that flex and pads in a package??

You know what would be awesome? A DA with the forced rotation of the flex and the throw of the Rupes... I think it's only a matter of time.

When that happens I think it will be the last we will hear of rotaries

No, I just bought the HD flex and added the smaller backing plate since I wanted to be able to use the 5.5" hybrid pads, which I also ordered and are pictured.

Congrats Rob!!!! I hope you enjoy the heck out of that tool as I do.

BTW Rob, I don't see the LC interchangeable BP system for the pads....

Thanks Mike - I'm just finishing up a wash and will try it out shortly.

As for the interchangeable BP, I just ordered the Flex 4-3/8" plate so will be able to use that with the 5.5" pads (I think?). To me it seemed like that would work and the Flex already came with the larger plate allowing use with larger pads, so I didn't really see the benefit in the interchangeable system (other than speed, and I'm slow anyway) :buffing:

Those pads are 5 inch and the Velcro material is 4 inch. So your plate will be 3/8 to big and will dig into the foam when pressed hard enough for correction work....

The factory Flex plate is perfect for the larger 6.5 hybrid pads if you decide to pick those up.

I'll have to pick up the interchangeable system as well. Remember when I said I was "done"? Not so much.

Just finished a first pass with SPF and the hybrid blue pad on speed 3. All I can say is WOW. I should've got this thing a long time ago! :xyxthumbs:

You may think your done but there is always something to be had. I'm on hold until I get to Germany. Then I will pick up again with ordering supplies.

You should have gotten this setup sooner. Enjoy the day today perfecting the paint. Put up a post on your work today. I would like to see it.

What do you think of the 1z washer concentrate or is this your first try. I have been thinking of giving it a try myself.

I have used the 1z Anti-Frost and liked it so decided to try just the washer fluid. I will likely use it as a booster to existing cheapo stuff. I really like the scent of the Anti-Frost.
