Do you guys know of a natural looking dressing that will hold up to the heat under the hood and does not turn into a dust magnet? I did a search and it seems like everyone is using something different. Some shine others not so much.. what are you guys using in the natural or matte look?

cd2

303 Protectant ... light matte but not appreciable and water based so no dirt/dust attraction.

Sonus trim and motor kote! Dries and doesn't attract dirt!

UTTG without question.
Withstands temperatures up to 500F.
No dust attraction like the others.
Lasts for many months.

CD2 on the truck
303 on the T-Bird
UTTG on the wifes Lexus

I originally did my truck first when I found AG(and you guys)and first brought the CD2,since then I tried 303 which I really like and also use it on the interior of my truck and T-Bird and finally UTTG which I like for exterior trim but not as much on the engine.

Anyone here tried CarPro PERL as an engine dressing? What are your thoughts? I bought it to dress the engine on my 2011 Mustang, but tried it first in the cab of my Super Duty (at a higher dilution ratio) where it has performed admirably.

Why don't you like UTTG on the engine?

Are we talking about plastic parts, or rubber hoses...and there are plated metal parts like hose fittings, passivated zinc plating that always oxidises.

303 is good for the rubber parts, the hoses and the rubber bumpers and so on. The hose fittings i like to use silicone, but maybe there is some kind of wax stuff that would work better...?

Thanks guys, I see a few like the CD2 and others like the 303 or UTTG. Of the three which would you say is the most natural or matte shine? Anyone have any pics?

BTW the Hyperdressing looks good at 4:1 but how is it on the dirt sticking to it and living in the heat under the hood?

When I search for it AZ comes up with Blue Coral/Blackmagic CD-2 engine shine?

1z vinyl rubber. can be sprayed onto a dry engine and left alone (no wipeoff).

And also can withstand engine temps (as claimed by 1z).

I've used Meg's Hyperdressing for all of my engine details, even at 1:1. Dust and dirt sticking hasn't been an issue. I think that differs dramatically with each car. Some vehicles just seem to suck air into the compartment while others are very closed off.

Poorboys Natural Dressing.......or use Black Again.... they both work well under heat and are inexpensive.

Last I remembered there was a very light dust after about a month. I just gave it a quick (and I mean quick) wipe down with a dry cloth, nothing else and it looked brand new again.

Either 303 or Pinnacle vinyl & Rubber protectant for the plastics & a product that shall remain nameless for the hoses. :D

from what i can tell cd2 engine detailer was a turtle wax product and is no longer made. but i did find a couple of sites that showed they had it in stock..?
