do any of you have an opinion on either a folding or the circular shades to place in the front dash window to keep the heat out. I have a 128i BMW Coupe and I need something for the front. Would you go custom fitting or just some universal product and what brand do you recommend?

Eclipse Sun shade, Auto Sun Shade, UV Shield Sun Shades, covercraft sun shade, car window shade, windshield shade, sunshade (http://www.autogeek.net/winsunshad.html)
Go with one of the Covercraft ones--the Custom UVS is better but it's thick and stiff and is more of a storage problem.

get your winshield tinted. I have a tint called Air80 on my windshield, it's pretty much clear, you can't tell the difference but it helps to reject heat and glare. I think it is made by llumar and is specifically made for windshields.

I ordered a custom CoverCraft from AG last week. Expect it next weeek. I am sure I will prefer a custom. Have had others and they are fair.

When I bought a new car (2010) bought another Covercraft Heat Shield. You will love it Jim..best 50 bucks you've spent.:props:

Same here, had mine for > 6yrs now and looks as good as new (except for minor sagging).

Another vote for the covercraft custom here. I'm pretty sure that's what I bought from the Nissan dealer for my car. Previously I'd never used a sunshade in my car, wow what a difference. The car will still be warmer than the outside but it can be 90's out and I won't fry myself on the brushed metal bits in my car which is important since my stickshift knob has a metal plate with the gear pattern on top lol
