Hello everyone. I actually forgot about this picture until I was visiting with my friend Tad (Dark Horse) and we were discussing detailing in various forms. This reading was taken on my mothers car which was repaired a few years ago after hitting a deer. Several spots within this area had readings of 300-400 microns then I hit this spot! My jaw dropped. Anyone else experience high readings like this? The rest of this side read from high 100's to mid 200's.

There's probably some filler there, don't you think? Perhaps just a spot where the primer is thick and was sanded down. Was it a new panel, or was the damaged panel repaired?

Thats where a PosiTector 200 would com in handy. Just wish I had the money for one....

Yep, lots of filler. You couldn't see how bad it was before I polished the paint, but after you could and still can see all the sanding marks in the prep work below the clear coat. This was a repaired panel. The shop used to be a highly sought after shop then the owner shut it down, someone else took over under another name, then another took over and re-opened under the original name hoping the name would buy some business. I'm driving the car this week and you wouldn't believe the rust coming through on some of the repaired panels. I mean it's only been like 2-3 years since the work was performed...

Wouldn't mind one myself Troy. Too bad I have to replace an engine in one car and possibly rebuild the trans in another :(. The Olds needs an engine but will be sitting until the SRT-4 is fixed. Taking it to a specialist 4 hours from my house, Real Tune in Cleveland, OH.
