Help...Forever Black peeling off after a week.

I am having a problem with Forever Black Trim dye. I've applied the product for a week but its peeling off after washing my car. Please help. Thks.

Is there any way to fully remove the Forever black dye from my car's trim. Is there any solvent or chemical that could strip the dye and maybe reapply? Thks.

That really sucks! I'll bet that was alot of wasted effort. You might try Goo Gone to remove it.
 
I've used that product a ton of times and never had that happen . Maybe the surface you applied it too wasn't prepped properly ?? If it's peeling off you might be able to use a pressure washer to remove the rest of it.
 
I used it on the bed rail covers and bumper covers of my F-150 and restore faded bumper cover trim trim on bumpers of and never had a problem. Did you prep the area properly using the pre cleaner that comes with the kit?
 
Thanks Scott, Adam & DaGonz. Well I've email Forever black and their technician said tht the reason it doesn't bond is coz I preb the surface with M39. So he advised me to strip the dye off using "Automotive Safe Solvent" and reapply again.

I am not familiar with what he means by "Automotive Safe Solvent". Anyone can help me here. Does it means using thinner or Prep-sol. Thanks.
 
you can do two things. clean with goo gone to remove the m39 and wipe down with ipa. 1:1 rubing alchol 91% with water. then reapply forever black.

or you can spray paint the trim. In my experince forever black is more like 6 months black for trim exposed to alot of sun. sometimes your better on removing the trim and painting it. careful with painting plastic the bottle has to be 10"-14" away. its such a hassle to fix runs and drips on plastic.

Something I've mentioned several times and I keep going back to..

DuPont Prep-Sol is a product specifically developed for autobody work that's specifically designed to remove silicone's, oils, grease, wax, sealants, tar and just about everything prior to painting...

It's available at just about every local paint supply store and is economically priced.

Thanks BobbyG. We only have Glasurit Tar and Silicone remover over here in M'sia. Its kinda similar like Prepsol, as prior for spray painting. Thks.
