Hey guys,

Quick question... I usually give my bigger contract clients a box of nice chocolates or treats from a local sweets shop for a small gift for the holidays and for being loyal customers. This year, I wanted to mix it up a little. Anyone else do this and does anyone have any ideas for what I could give them? I want to spend around $15-20 for each gift. I'm still in college so I can't afford anything too expensive, but if anyone has any ideas or wants to share what they do please reply.

Thanks and Merry Christmas! Im the MAN

As a landscaper my father and i go out to big nurseries every year and get lots of poinsettas for 4.50 apiece.

A good microfiber and some spray wax.

Unless of course your clients see that as work.

Little late now, but a calendar would be nice and then insert their car picture on it after it was detailed. Every time they would look at calendar date they would see their car in nice shape.

Yeah, nice marketing tool also.

KEEP EM COMING FELLAS!

How about a Christmas Card

One year I passed out cans of Fix-a-Flat with my business card attached via rubber band. It was a hit with everyone!

I don't really want a gift related to detailing... I mean some of my clients give me $75 or 100 cash/gift cards to fancy restaurants. I just want something that really shows I appreciate them being my regular clients.

You mentioned that you typically give gourmet food to your valued clients. Are you looking for a completely new gift idea or just a new brand? If you are looking for a new brand I would suggest trying Comfort Cookies.

I think by giving them a gift you could be putting them in an akward position. Send a Christmas Card, tell them how much you appreciate their support, and call it done!

:iagree: That's what I'm doing over the weekend, printing out custom cards with a picture of the customer's car on the card I send them. :props:

Make your own gift certificates for $20.00 off there next detail.

I was thinking on the same lines as this but just a little different. Make up your own "gift/business card" for a discount. Something they can keep with them until they need or want to use it with your business. More on the lines of credit card size to remind them when they see it in a wallet that it will refresh their memory. Maybe put a phot of thier car on the face, their name on the bottom, exp date, etc.

Just an idea, for what it's worth.

Another consideration if you're thinking about food items/edibles: You may not know if one of your customers has a specific/strict diet, has food allergies, etc.

As someone who has some of those kind of issues myself, I try to steer clear of giving gifts of that nature to others unless I specifically know what they like and can have. Nothing worse than giving someone something they couldn't or shouldn't have.

:iagree: I had a new neighbor bring me a bottle of wine last week. Little did they know I am a recovering alcoholic. I thanked them, then gave it to another neighbor who is a practicing alcoholic

:)
