Wheel wells?

How do you guys handle cleaning/detailing wheel wells. My boss got a new place in secluded northern MN, meaning he has to travel roughly 15 miles on dirt/ gravel/ clay roads to access his new place. I tried every degreaser and wheel cleaner I had and nothing could remove the caked on dirt. He has been running it through the local car wash with underbody spray once a week for the last 2 months and the wheel wells are finally about 80% clean. If I can remove the remaining dirt should I be using something to prevent the dirt/clay from sticking in the future? Maybe a tire dressing?
 
I like to use either Amazing Roll-Off or DP Wheel Cleaner on dirty wheel wells. I use the Mothers Fender Well Brush to agitate the dirt before rinsing with water. Once the plastic surface is clean and dry I like to apply the new Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant.

Mothers Fender Well Brush cleans wheel wells beneath the car's fenders. Fender Well Brush has a long handle to scrub behind wheels and tires.
Amazing Roll-Off Spray it on and watch the dirt roll off!

Good suggestions Bobby. I do similar but I use APC+ and UTTG
 
Just make sure to do the wheel wells before you do the wheels. Bobby B. listed all the stuff you'll need to make it easy.:dblthumb2:
 
I would recommend either CG Bare Bones or Griots undercarriage spray. They both look great. Just spray on and walk away.

And I use APC+ 4:1, and a long handle brush to clean.

Sometimes I even jack up the car to gain more room to work.
 
how about those carpet front wheel well on the Mercedes?
all the dirt and leaves all stuck on there.
 
Someone once suggested to use 303 fabric protecter on them once you get them clean.

I usually spray APC and let it dwell for a while then scrub with a brush rinse and repeat. My dad's Mazda has the same type
 
I use Meguiar's APC+ 4:1 or Amazing Roll Off. I also use a brush to agitate but I have the Mothers Fender Well Brush on the way which will make it much easier. I have also tried varying thing to dress such as Sonus Trim and Motor Kote, various tire dressings but tend to stay away from that unless its some stuff I don't like and am trying to get rid off, and CD2 Engine Detailer
 
^prime example of too dirty for a no rinse wash! man that thing was loaded down, trucks have so many nooks and crannies that get filled with mud when there that dirty, bet the owner got a free driveway pressure wash job in that deal LOL

He always does :bash:..he has a fleet of work truck that I clean before he brings them in for service work. :autowash:Takes 1-1.5hr more than an average driven truck.
 
My solution was my four post lift and a pressure washer. Plus a garden sprayer with soap. Any old cheap soap if good enough for wheel wells.

Then treat them with something slick after they are clean. It will help the crud to slide off next time.

I used a Turtle Wax Silicone liquid that I buy in gallon jugs at Walmart for $8.99
It's absolutely awful garbage for anything else.

Do not ever use it in the interior or on tires. Just the wheel wells.
And wipe it down after you have applied it.
If it drips on the painted wheels it will stain the paint.
