He's been very sick, I believe lung cancer, and his time appears to have come....

RIP Joe Paterno

That announcement was a rumor.

The head of the school paper actually resigned due to it.

Died from a broken heart. Sad to see but after what happened in Nov he had no need to continue.
RIP.

I would say rest in peace, but given the scandal he was involved with, I am afraid he will not be resting in peace at all. None of that will take away from his incredible history of winning, but his character has truly been forever tarnished.

Hey, it was his own choice to throw his career and legacy down the drain by not reacting properly when a problem was brought to his attention. I have no sympathy for him in that regard.

However as he did have lung cancer, I will say it's probably for the best that his physical suffering was over quickly. I do feel sorry for his family and those who for whatever reason still looked fondly upon him. Loss of a loved one is never easy.

I don't know what is worse, those that judge or those who are being judged; but in the end, ONLY ONE can truly judge~

Joe, Rest In Peace~

I hope he is remembered as a man who let CHILD RAPE go on in his locker room without doing anything about it.

He will be. He'll also be remembered for all the good things he did and now that he's passed, hopefully people will stop focusing on him and instead turn their attention to the victims, the people that really need help.

That is all hear say! Let it play out in the courts as it should be. Again Media is Judge and Jury.
