What do you use to 'seal' wheels?

Besides the fact that I own a BMW and my front wheels look custom black from the brake dust.

After washing and cleaning, is there anything other then wax? Something like, but not quite as permanent, Opt-Coat. Or would opti-Seal be OK.

Suggestions appreciated.

I like and use Blackfire Metal Sealant on my wheels with great results, meaning soap and water clean up. No harsh wheel cleaners needed.

Opti-Seal or any other wipe on walk away sealant would work great.

last year I used powerlock and 845. soap and water cleanup . this year I just got done oc 2.0 them . one and done .

I use WGDGS. Only because i have it and I don't want to buy any more wax right now. I'm thinking a opticoat or cq when i'm ready to order though

I have been using 845, after reading a review that rated it the number 1 product for wheels.

I use Ultima Trim and Tire Guard. It seals wheels nicely and lasts on the wheels until I need to dress the tires again where I just re-apply it while I am already down there working on the tires. My customers generally wait too long to bring their car back to me to get the benefit of this method.

I just did my new BMW wheels a month ago and love this treatment. Clean with 20% alcohol and work in the Ultima and let dry - that simple - no buffing. Repeat after an hour. Brake dust just slides right off...

Blackfire metal sealant was made for this purpose and works great. I have also had good results with opti-seal and Colli #845.

Poorboys and DP make a dedicated wheel sealant product designed for the heat and abuse wheels see. Some other sealants work well too, including Rejex

The DP, Poorboys, & wheel wax are ok products. But I have found them to be a pain to apply and remove. If they are not applied ultra thin they turn to concrete. Once the wheels are seal it is easier. But opti seal is so much easier to apply and give same kind of protection.

Has anyone tried Wolf's Wheel protectant? I find the easiest to use is the Armor All Wheel Protectant. I have also use the DP wheel sealant. Problem is that the wheel dust is so bad that I have to wash the wheels of my BMW at least twice a month and use strong wheel cleaner. Interestingly the new ones have no wheel dust at all. I wonder if their brake pads can be retrofitted.

Since I've got both Rejex and Opti-Seal, think I'll try those out before I spend more money on product.

AG's darn sales events are soooo hard to resist buying new product ;)
