i was recommended collinite 845. is it a wax or sealant. which wax and sealant do you recommend and should i put a sealant and a wax. thanks

If you do not use one of the new coatings and are looking for something that last for a long time I would go
Nuba wax 845
Sealant Finishkare 1000p
They both seem to never quit.

Collinite 845 is technically a liquid wax. Based on the feedback I have received 845 is the most durable wax available, leaves a nice shine, and just happens to be inexpensive.

You want gloss? 2 coats of Ultima Paint Guard Plus

You want depth? Four star Ultimate Paint Protection

You want durability? CarPro CQuartz or Opticoat

You want a great wax that applies as a spray? Optimum Car Wax

For light cars, I'm partial to Zaino Z2 Pro. For dark cars, it would be Zaino Z5 Pro. Both are long lasting sealants.

Both Menz Power Lock and BlackFire wet diamond are pretty good sealant.

Blackfire Wet Diamond.

+1 for BFWD. It is the easiest to work with and delivers an incredible shine. Can't speak to durability because it is on a garage queen Vette. A little touch up with BF detail spray and it just keeps on shining.

A good alternative is CG Black Light topped with Hubrid V7.

I'd actually class it more as a hybrid - Collinite has said that it is a mix of carnauba and synthetic polymers; and while it's a durable product, it's hardly the most durable wax available. Both of its Collinite brethren, 476 and 915, will outlast it (Collinite themselves say so). So will Supernatural Hybrid, Bilt Hamber Finis Wax, etc.

I recommend Duragloss 501 (sealant) and Collinite 845 (wax). I use both on my two vehicles and get +6 months of protection. Also, both are very inexpensive.

Deep clean with Duragloss 601/501 combo then top with Duragloss 601/105 or 111 combo.

I need to obtain some Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection, thanks Corey.

I am using Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and it is great! Corey, I might just have to try that Four Star Sealant!

I applied many coats of Z5 to my car before winter and I can honestly say that when I used ONR in late winter on the car it cleaned up perfectly, so it does last a good long while. I did run it through the touch-free wash during the winter to maintain it but when using the ONR, it just popped:xyxthumbs:

That being said, since being here on AG, I decided to buy 2 Black Fire products to replace the Zaino that I'm almost out of, BF Crystal Seal and BF wet diamond all paint sealant. I plan on doing a 2 step process tomorrow on the car using these products, first the BFWD and then the BFCS to seal it in even further:dblthumb2:

Meguiars Synthetic Paint Sealant. It's inexpensive, last quite a while and leaves an amazing shine with depth.
