Well, it was time for this vehicle's spring cleaning. I maintain this one on a bi-weekly basis. It's last full detail was about 6 months ago. Since then, it's seen a layer of Max Wax every 3rd cleaning. That's one coat per 6 weeks for us math drop-outs like me!
Here's the process.....
Wheels, Tires, and Wells.....
(Simple Green 1:1 and Meguiar's Wheel Brightener)
Yep, Simple Green. Home Depot had it on sale so I took a gallon. Mixed 1: it does extremely well. It allows my pressure washer to really work on tires and in the wheel wells. Wheel Brightener at 4:1 and cleaned the wheels nicely. These rims have it hard. Every time I do this thing, they are coated in black dust. This time they got a coat of DP's Spray Surface Shield. I maintain mine the same way it holds up really well and keeps the dust from caking on. The tires got a coat of Pinnacle's Black Onyx Tire gel and the wells got a coating of Armor All Tire Foam.
Wash Cycle.....
(NXT Tech Wash with White Wash ShMitt)
A good bath is all it needed. There were no contaminants worth claying off. Max Wax holds up so well and really protects the finish.
Paint Correction
Pinnacle's Advanced Swirl Remover
(EDGE2K Green Light-Cutting pad at #6 PC setting)
There were swirls. Even with me washing. Heck, look at the befores. They are going to happen here where I live. I have just learned to live with it. This pad/chemical combo worked on the paint really well. It removed about 85% of the defects. Doesn't take much either. About two pea-sized amounts per panel.
Paint Protection
Pinnacle's Souveran Spray Wax
(One spray per panel, wipe in with MF towel, flip, buff to shine)
It does not get any easier and shinier than this. The black was as slick and as glossy as Max Wax has been. This product has been such a timesaver for me. Usually you have to give up something with a product to save time. Not with this one.
Interior.......
(Pinnacle's Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner, Vinyl & Rubber Protectant, Leather Conditioner, and Diamondite's Glass Cleaner)
I cleaned every surface first. Then I simply protected them. The VRP smells lightly like coconuts. The Leather Conditioner smells like new leather.......made the leather look new too. Good stuff here.
