I'd rather not clay(marr) it as the paint doesn't feel gritty. My friend Jim is sending me a special clay that shouldn't marr the paint. I'll try it next time around. Should I IronX the paint? I'm thinking Pinnacle Paint Cleaner with a finishing pad, then wax. I do not feel the need to polish at this point because there's no swirls. How would you go about it?

OPC and OC 2.0. Done.

I'm not quite into the coatings. I do not like having to polish to remove. So, P21S/OPC, then wax? Would a chemical paint cleaner be of any value?

Yea! You should definitely try ironX or trix before a paint cleaner for a cleaner paint!
Though I agree with Setec!
Maybe claying, ironX soak, powerwash and maybe a 2nd wash with opc, eraser, OC2.0 for best protection!

You owe it to yourself (and your ride) to give OC/OG a try. They are not as scary as the word "permanent" may imply.

With that said, do a test spot with a chemical paint cleaner. Look at your pad, if it's dirty, do the whole thing.... If not, you don't need it

There's probably rail dust still on the car, so IronX isn't such a bad idea.

Mark if it does not need to be clayed then I would agree with you on skipping that step especially if you do not want to polish.

So I would wash with a stripping soap or OPC to remove any protection that may be on the paint and use Iron X to remove any imbedded iron.
Then use a nice paint cleaner like Pinnacle, P21s or Blackfire GEP.
Use your LSP of choice and you should be good to go for a while :xyxthumbs:

No reason to make it more complicated or involved than necessary as you certainly have the skills to properly evaluate the finish!

Why not try CQuartz? Very, very durable that goes on like a standard wax/sealant and is layerable.

I'd use Iron X, very mild clay, CarPro Eraser and then CQuartz.

If you want to go standard route, I'd use Iron X, mild clay, paint cleaner such as Pinnacle or Blackfire GEP and then wax/sealant of your choice.

Ingot Silver as listed in Mark's signature line.
