I posted another thread this morning about product recommendations for a DA polisher like the Griot's or Porter 7424XP. As I have thought about it and looked at numerous products, i'm starting to get a bit confused about which products to use and when. For example, i've seen finishing glazes, sealant glazes, etc. I know the basics as far as claying, applying an AIO, sealant glaze, and wax if desired, but i'm wanting to get my car in tip top shape once I get a polisher. Sorry if my threads are getting annoying to anybody
I have a black 2012 Mustang (I'm not sure if Ford uses a different paint from other manufacturers which is why i'm listing my vehicle). It's a daily driver and is not garage kept. It doesn't seem to have many swirls from what I can tell, but there are quite a few light, straight scratches. I get quite a few water spots that don't like to come out with a quick detailer also. I wash it at least once weekly if not 2-3 times weekly with the Wookie's fist.
My normal routine for detailing by hand is:
Wash/dry
Clay
Klasse AIO
Wax
Since i'm getting one of the two previously listed polishers, I want to change things up a bit. Can someone please give me a good starting point? i.e. Should I start with a swirl remover or something else?
If you wouldn't mind either pointing me in a direction that explains what i'm looking for or typing it out, I would like to know:
*which types of products there are out there (swirl removers, glazes, sealants, polish enhancer, etc.)
*which sequence they should be used in
*which products are critical, necessary, and unnecessary. Examples of your favorite products wouldn't hurt either
Thanks!
