I just purchased a Superformance Shelby Cobra. I have been using Pinnacle Souveran on my exotics and have Ben pleased. Question is, I am not going to be taking a hose to this car. Are the waterless car wash products, like Griots any good?
Any advice or tips on this car would be greatly appreciated.

Even though it's not labeled as a WW...I'd rather use
Optimum's ONR for your 'type of detail'.

BTW...

Quick Edit: Welcome to AGO!!

As you can see, do not want to hose this car off.

-IMO...No hosing-off necessary with ONR.

-Do you differ in that assessment?

these were the pics before i purchased it!!!! all clean now.

I'd have to agree with Bob, I think ONR would work great for the majority of a car like this. Then a waterless wash for the areas close to the interior.

Nice car BTW.:props:

Hi nice purchase, I'm a Shelby lover/owner through and through. I would suggest Waterless Wash Plus, but I hear a lot of good things about ONR, just had so much good experience with WW+ I never tried it.

@OP:

-Hope some of the suggestions made so far have piqued your interest.

-I believe the following Mike Phillps articles will clarify the different methods/products
employed in the upkeep/cleaning of a vehicle that will not see a hose.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...r-wash-rinseless-car-wash-spray-detailer.html

From the above article:
-Waterless Car Wash
A waterless car wash is where you use a high lubricity pre-mixed spray detailer
to heavily saturate a panel and then carefully wipe any dirt or road grime off to a dry shine.
The key to working safely with a waterless car wash is to use plenty of clean
microfiber polishing towels and after using all 8 sides of a microfiber towel,
quit using the microfiber towel and switch to a new, clean microfiber polishing towel so you
don't simply transfer dirt removed from one panel to another panel.

-Rinseless Car Wash
A rinseless car wash is kind of a cross between a normal car wash and a waterless car wash.
Like a normal car wash, you’re still going to use water, but only a couple of gallons.
Like a waterless wash, instead of rinsing your wash solution off, you’ll work panel by panel
and wipe each panel to a dry shine using microfiber drying towels like the Water Guzzler.
With a Rinseless Wash,
you’ll use dramatically less water but still be flushing the panel with
plenty of high lubricity wash solution to leave behind a scratch-free finish.

-Waterless Washes (available @ AGO)

Detailer’s Pride Waterless Auto Wash - RTU
Detailer’s Pride Rinseless Wash & Gloss - 6-8 ounces per gallon
Poorboy's World Spray & Wipe Waterless Wash - RTU
Griot's Garage Waterless Spray-On Car Wash - RTU
Last Touch Spray Detailer - RTU
Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine 8 ounces per gallon

-Rinseless Washes (available @ AGO)
Detailer’s Pride Rinseless Wash & Gloss 1 ounce for 2 gallons of water
Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine - 1 ounce for 2 gallons of water

-At the proper mixing-ratio---ONR is even a Spray Detailer!!

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine: clay lubricant, optimum rinseless wash, no rinse car wash, optimum detailing products

Disclaimer:
I am not an Optimum employee.
Nor do I benefit in any form or fashion on the sales of their products...
Wish I did, though.

I appreciate all the input. Seems the consensus is ONR. I will be ordering today and picking up a bottle of Griots here locally.
I'll post how it turns out.
Thanks again.

You can use any quality brand name waterless wash to wipe the car clean. If it's just light dust you can safely use a quality spray detailer.

We normally use to wipe all the cars down we work on here at Autogeek instead of washing them...

Like this one...

We moved the 1934 inside and then wiped the finish down using Detailer's Pro Series Waterless Auto Wash.

I love that car too Bob...

I took a picture of it at SEMA two years ago, couple of them... they're probably somewhere on this forum in a SEMA picture thread.

That car looks fast sitting still...

-Superformance does a fantastic replication! :props:

-I see one ever so often at Car Shows---causes me to do a double-take.
Then I realize that only five made it to production...
With Duntov selling some to Mecum years ago; the others?? :dunno:

-Thanks for the heads-up on your SEMA-pics, Mike...I'm off to find 'em!
