The Medium will remove surface contaminants faster with less passes. It will also be more likely to mar the finish.

I really like these products but I only use them when I'm also going to machine buff the paint.

Mark the back of your Speed Surface Prep Towel
Use a permanent marker and mark each of the four quadrants to make it easy to monitor and know how which quadrant or section you've used as you detail cars. When you notice the performance of the current quadrant falling off switch to a new quadrant.

I was thinking that the difference in grade was for if the car was neglected or not

since you said its just the speed and marring...I'd go with the fine

I do know that polishing is recommended after claying
