Here is the link to PART 1 for those who didn't see it

For those who did see it and said wait till he needs something here is an update.

The Brother-in-law came up this week for Thanksgiving. While here we got lots of snow so he decided to clear his dad's drive with the snowblower but had no gas. Well guess what, the gas can had a leak and soaked his trunk floor liner with gas after filling up, how's that smelling for ya!

So his wife calls my wife looking for some help after he tried his best to get it out, which of course I gave. Lucky that the area had no padding just course carpet over thin plastic board, so used an interior shampoo then extracted, repeated then hit it with So2Pure which did a good enough job that they made the five hour drive home with the kids without getting high and headaches. Actually by the time they left the house really couldn't pick up much gas scent at all in the area of the spill.

Wasting all my time and money huh? What did I just save him? Karma, love it.

Have a great day all!!

Lol funny how things work out like that... Glad you were able to get the smell out, gas is hard smell to get rid of, I found that meguiars original odor eliminator worked on it as well once when I had to clean a seat of a friends ...

I sure hope you reminded him how you were wasting your time and money.

It's only after I start giving these people bills/invoices that they begin to understand how much time & money I'm wasting... even if the bill has a discount applied to show a $0.00 balance.

That's awesome. I've had very good luck as well with So2Pure getting rid of difficult chemical smells when ozone wouldn't touch it.

No actually I didn't. First his wife called to ask for the help, not him, in addition the sheepish look on his face was enough for me.

Now, if I had thought of the $0.00 balance invoice I may have done that! :props:

Even so, he probably still won't understand the need to protect and care for paint!

We are an instant results society. If my paint doesn't fade or crack NOW, then I don't care. People are not going to maintain a car NOW for what might happen LATER. It's kind of like maintenance. Everyone knows you are supposed to change your oil, but tell someone you should really flush coolant every few years and brakes as well. Half or more of them will tell you "But it works just fine". As if MAINTENANCE and REPAIRS are the exact same thing- I'll only MAINTAIN my brakes and cooling system when they have FAILED and need REPAIRS!

Then when they get slapped with a huge bill for a clogged heater core (or worse), failing calipers; or even a completely clogged cooling system that caused the engine to overheat and fail or dirty brake fluid that overheated and boiled making the brakes suddenly not work when they were needed most and there's an accident- they'll STILL not understand why those maintenance items were necessary. (The scary thing about brake fluid is that it's not likely to overheat when dirty and moisture logged under normal driving conditions; you are likely to first realize it under a heavy, emergency braking scenario).

That's probably true, I have just been having some fun with this whole topic, my form of self therapy! :props:
