Opti-Coat Pro...how many coats?

Exactly how many coats of the Opti-Coat Pro should approved dealers be applying to
the paint??
I have been reading conflicting information on line and heard some dealers do one coat,
while another dealer will do 2 coats.
What is Optimum's required application for Opt-Coat Pro?

One coat.

Never heard of any pros doing 2 coats with OC Pro.
 
Multiple coats of OC pro won't make a difference. One evenly applied coat is all you need. What is your main reason for wanting to coat your car with OC pro vs other coatings?
 
I am taking an educated guess at precisely the chemistry underlying OC but it strikes me that a second coat will likely just not stick.

I have heard some apply an extra coat in heavy impact areas...usually this is done to use the full 10cc, at least on warranty jobs. Not required though.

A second coat can be added as long as it's done before it fully cures. After that it will require a light (scuffing) polishing of the surface.
 
One coat. No real benefit from more coats.

Must be a different technology to that we use - in our case, after about 30 mins, any additional application will simply not stick.

CQuartz Finest will bead up on itself if the first coat has cured already. OCP will go on fine, but once cured, an additional coat will look cloudy on the surface. I'll see if I can find the post about it and the pic someone posted of what happens. ;)

Double checked the thread and the pic was an example of what OC does when it rejects itself, but it was of another coating. It will likely bead up too, but end result would be like this.

Just ensure proper coverage during the application phase, once.
 
My understanding is that dealers are supposed to be using 10cc with every application, but I am not finding this to be the case.
