OK... I'm a total newb, but I'm willing to try things out.

I bought the UDM after researching how I can fix up my Subaru Outback. It had a nasty scratch from a visit to the local Costco parking lot; likely thanks to someone trying to carry a box past my car.

I'm happy to report I've been fairly successful in getting rid of the scratch, plus making the car look a whole lot better.

The UDM did vibrate a lot, but I don't have any experience with PC for a good comparison. The UDM did make quick work of the polish and I was able to get a good looking finish. The known problem with the switch wasn't a problem for me as I was very careful to place my hands in a place where I wouldn't bump the switch, and I also unplugged it when I was applying polish to the pad.

Here's a picture of the scratch:

Here's what it looked like after the UDM and some Menerza IP:

It's not much, but its a start. I'm sure I can get better by practicing and reading more gaining more knowledge.

So here's a big THANK YOU to everyone who has so graciouly answered my questions and contributed to the overall knowledge of this site.

Cheers
