Is the Proline sponge different?

I've read a few times that Lowe's Proline sponge has changed since they've relabled it as a multipurpose sponge and only in the two pack.

Is that true? And how is it different? Is it not good enough quality to be using now?

The one in the 2-pack is the correct one. For RW they last a good long while. The ones I use for IX discolour a bit so I keep them separate, they seem to last about ten uses before beginning to break down or "fray" a bit.
 
The twin pack in the household cleaners department is the same as the old Proline grout sponge. The new grout sponge in the flooring department is not the same.
