I rubbed some SF4500 between two fingers and notice it feels ever so slightly gritty. Is this normal?

I never noticed this with any Meg's products.

Yes. Its supposed to be gritty-ish. Those grits (abrasives) are what polishes the paint. No abrasive = no paint corrections.

Yes meguiars uses abrasives. The Menz products you mentioned is very fine and does not have a lot of cutting power. Similiar to like a Megs Swirl Remover. If you want to feel some serious abrasives go check out Meguiars marine compound, it's heavy

Why can't I feel the abrasive in Meguiar's polish but I can in Menzurna polish?

Not being a wise guy but what does rubbing it between your fingers have to do with using it with a quality da polisher? These products are designed to be used by machines, not fingers.
PS Menzerna.
