Black vs blue pad for liquid wax

Hi all, I bought a black pad to wax my car using ultimate liquid wax. I got it from chemical guys (it's a hex logic pad). Just wondering if this is okay to use for waxing or should I use a blue pad? Thanks
 
The black pad is perfect for applying UW, but personally its so easy to use I put it on by hand. That is the sealant I use and I follow it up with some ultimate spray way.

Really? The ultimate quik wax spray right after using the sealant? Or after each wash thereafter
 
Per Chemical Guys the blue hex pad is a light cleaner. The black is a finishing pad which you can use with a ultra fine polish or wax. To stick by the book red is the one to use but the black pad will be fine to apply wax. No need to push or put pressure on your DA. Just let the weight of the machine glide over the paint when applying.
 
This particular CG Black foam pad has no cut.
It'll work just fine in the application of ULW, IMHO.

Their blue pad has some cut to it. I often use it with M86, SwirlX or PF2500 for one step polishing. M205, SF4000, Ultimate Polish for polishing.

I like black for super fine polishing, and cleaner waxes. I use red for dedicated sealants.
 
You're good--I've used the black HexLogic pad to apply Colli 845--worked flawlessly.
