How would you solve it / Is there a solution?

Hello guys

A week ago I left my car in a place full of birds and besides pooping all over my car, I noticed they pecked everywhere, including on the rubber trim. Now it's full of mark, even after I cleaned it. Is there any solution to remove these marks from the rubber?

what did you use to clean it? I would try DP Deatailers Trim to clean the trim, and CQuartz DLUX. It may not eliminate the scratches, but it may rejuvenate the color enough that it's not as noticeable.

I tried only a normal car shampoo, an apc and a quick detailer
They helped to reduce the marks a litlle bit, but still are there

Wow, that sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Would make me want to go back to that spot with some bird seed and a fully loaded shotgun.

If it is plastic, you might be able to reduce the appearance with some polish or compound. If it is rubber, try some rubber dressing on a microfiber and rub really hard.

I'll try all these options

I wanted to "kill" those birds. Besides on ruinong the rubber trim, look at the crap they made! [emoji33]

I would try one of the trim 'dye' kits.

I have also plasti-dipped trim that was destroyed, when a customer didn't want to spend the $$ on a dye kit.

This is your solution. You should have seen the trim I just used it on. It will fix it.

Use the brush, then re-apply/re-clean with a micro-fiber towel as well and you'll be good as new. Seal with Ultima Tire and Trim Guard.

I'm no bird expert, but went through this years ago when a single Sparrow that didn't find a mate (was early spring tho).

Everyday it attacked my wife's car and the windows on our house, our grill on the deck, Making a mess. It was aweful.

Tape off the area and buff, preferably with a mini buffer. I have to do this once or twice a month. Works around 75% of the time. Start with a polish and work you way down to a compound until they're gone, and then back up again. Finish with a dressing. Works on hard and soft rubber provided there is a hard surface behind it. Be gentile!

Solution Finish or the rubber will eventually wear and weather to the point the marks will become unnoticeable. HARD scrubbing could certainly do wonders too!

You'll have to remove a tiny layer of rubber to completely remove them, or just mask them with a product.
