I got this as a repeat customer. I didn't know it at the time, but it's a single stage paint on a 1996! Cust bought it used and had now idea it didn't have a clear coat... so when I was done and dropped it off, I explained that it was going to need waxing often since it was the only protection the paint had, so he's gonna get me to come out 3-4 times a year to keep it up!!

Exterior:
Rinse
Stoners Tarm. on front end and side mirrors
Pre-soak DP X-foam via foam cannon
Wash Ulti-mitt and Pinnacle Safe via GG bucket
Dry guzzler, air compressor

D2G special blend polish via UDM, org. lo-pro pad sp.6
buff mf
Top with Souveran Paste, buff, top with Liquid Souveran, buff... both via Blue CCS pad, UDM sp 1.5
Final Wipe DP QD'r
Aqua Wax on Hood
Tires 75/25 RL Ext dressing, DP gel
Trim and wells AA foam
Wheels wipe down RL Qd'r

50/50 Shots:
There wasn't that drastic of a change, I went through 2 pads, used some straight polish and I couldn't get through enough paint to get what I wanted, but maybe that wasn't possible, or i just didn't have the tools... GIMME SOME FEED BACK PLZ!!

Wow that looks like a tough detail. That's a huge improvement, thats for sure.

For oxidation, using a chemical paint cleaner first is always a good idea. This will clean up the oxidation and then you'll have 'fresh' paint to use an abrasive polish on to clean up any swirls. It seems that swirl removers don't do much with oxidation, as you figured out I guess.

Klasse AIO or Poorboy's Pro Polish are two chemical paint cleaners that excel in oxidation removal. Jngrbrdman has done some impressive work on red with Klasse AIO and oxidation.

thanks for the tips... have to keep it in mind

Why didnt i read that yesterday budman3, i ended up using 5 pads to get the paint "fairly" good on a horible car today..

So it feks Duragloss 501 and then Menz 106FF etc then?

And great work D2G...ill give you a red one in return tomorow..he he

It looks so good, I need a new adjective to describe it - how about "creamy"?

If not, I'll describe it as "scrumtrulescent".

Wet-N-Glossy the way RED should be!! Nice work D2G

Dust I am speechless. That red looks amazing and these signature shots are kickin'! How do you like that combo for the tires? I might have to try it if you like it. Liquid Souveran is the real deal!

Love the way Souveran looks or red. It trully shows its true red color, and you can see it in signature shots. Great job!

The red is soooo red! It's good to see that you're using Souveran on your details. A lot of people like to save it for just their own cars. So what is your D2G super secret special handshake polish?:) Did I miss it somewhere?

That is some damn fine work! How can you tell from looking at a paintjob whether it has a clear coat or not?

The 75/25 is working really good. I like DP, but it's really expensive... so adding it to my existing tire dressing give it a mild gloss, but still that nice matte black finish!

Sorry, lemme retract that statement... I really didn't knwo until I put a pad to it and red started coming off!! Also during the wash process I used the Pinnalce Safe bug and tar.... and red came off on that!!

the only reason I used Souveran in because TexasTB gave me a generous sample of it, and it's been sitting in my garage for a few months. To be honest with you, I enjoyed it very much. Still not spending the money for a whole jar.

ok, since you asked on the polish... In one bottle, don't know excat measurements, I have:

360
106ff
Menz. Final Polish
Intensive Polish
Super Intensive Polish
XMT 3

Looks good my friend!
That's how that Honda CRV looked liked the other day when you called. Couldn't see any reflection. Had some white paint transfer on my pads.

BTW.... That International 4400 detail whooped my butt today!

Vehicles like that are the best. Single stage can look sooo good. My black Mercedes has single stage (1991 300e)

I would have used a wool pad, and heavy compound. Then a less aggressive pad and less aggressive compound. Then an even less aggressive pad and Megs light color swirl remover/glaze.

These type of cars beg for sealant, I think. Maybe two coats, then carnuba.

This is the process I used on my 300e. It looks like glass.

Well done Dust, you got to love single stage paint. It's so rewarding when it's detailed properly. It's funny that in the pictures there is different shades of red coming up :D well done and thank you for sharing.
